Attend a charter school at home using the time-tested Calvert Curriculum

Introducing an exciting education opportunity for parents and students in South Carolina! The South Carolina Calvert Academy is in the process of launching a virtual charter school for the 2009-2010 school year. Through the SCCA your child will attend public school at home utilizing the time-tested Calvert curriculum. Parents serve as Learning Guides with the instructional supervision of South Carolina certified teachers, but still maintain the flexibility of an online education delivered in the home.

  About South Carolina Calvert Academy
  

The South Carolina Calvert Academy (SCCA) is in the process of forming a virtual charter school through the South Carolina Public Schools for the 2008/2009 school year. The SCCA will serve students from anywhere in South Carolina in Kindergarten through Eighth Grade.

Parents pay no tuition for students to attend South Carolina Calvert Academy. Students are considered to be enrolled in a public school. SCCA provides textbooks, lesson plans, daily activities, and other curriculum materials, along with a loaned computer, printer and subsidy for Internet service.

All materials, including the computer and reusable curriculum materials, must be returned if the student is no longer enrolled. Students are required to take all state mandated, standardized tests. Such tests will be coordinated by SCCA and will be taken in person at locations designated by the school.

The Jim Fazio-designed course at PGA Country Club in Port St. Lucie, Fla., is noted for its small, fast greens. Water comes into play on 10 holes, with more than 80 bunkers that provide an added challenge to the relatively narrow fairways.

PGA Country Club provides a quality test for any skill level.
Other amentities include an exquisitely refurbished clubhouse complete with a fine dining room, grill room, full-service golf shop, and men's and ladies' locker rooms. Also included are 5 Har-Tru tennis courts, swimming pool and spa.

U.S. Kids Golf provides a Family Course Setup at The PGA Country Club.

The forward tees on most golf courses are approximately 5,000 yards for 18 holes and are too long for kids, adult beginners, some ladies and seniors. By adding two sets of tee locations (Green tees - 2,200 yards and Yellow tees - 3,750 yards) all family members are able to enjoy their round. With these tee locations, all members of the family can enjoy playing the game together.
